The  Albertson Foundation and CSI - Building the Futures of Idaho Students Together

November 23, 2009

The J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Foundation announced that it will award a $1 million scholarship grant to the College of Southern Idaho and its “Building Our Futures Together” campaign.  The grant, part of the Albertson Foundation’s Go On initiative, was created to provide opportunities for Idaho’s kids – to Go On to high-quality jobs, technical training, or post-secondary institutions, or in other words to Go On to a better life.  “Expanding access to CSI opportunities goes hand-in-hand with the purpose of these scholarships, which is reaching out to motivated, deserving Idahoans who want to fulfill their dreams,” said CSI President, Jerry Beck.

The grant will be used to fund scholarships for first-generation, transfer, returning, and non-traditional students, as well as students of academic merit.  “This is an extraordinary contribution that gives us added momentum in reaching our campaign goals,” states Alan Horner, general campaign chair and President and CEO of First Federal Savings Bank who was thrilled about the announcement.

The Clements Group is also thrilled at this announcement and congratulates the Albertson Foundation and CSI for their success in improving the lives of Idaho’s students.
