Health Care Leaders Give Feedback at BGTC Forum

June 2010 – Bowling Green, Kentucky

Health care leaders and CEO's throughout the Bowling Green area came together for a forum sponsored by Bowling Green Technical College (BGTC). The forum, a component of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) Workforce Competitiveness Initiative, was designed to allow leaders to give feedback on topics related to the current issues and needs of the health care industry. Robert LePage, Senior Vice President of the Clements Group (CG), and Roger Slater, CG Senior Consultant, assisted BGTC in assessing the region's health care industry needs and in designing employee and new labor pool development programs for the college.

Participants responded to a series of questions in a discussion format to review industry trends, employment climate, current employee productivity, new employee expectations and to prioritize partnering opportunities with BGTC.

Organizations attending the forum included: Greenview Regional Hospital, Graves-Gilbert Clinic, T.J. Samson Community Hospital, The Medical Center at Bowling Green, The Medical Center at Franklin, Commonwealth Health Corporation, Barren County Health Care Center, Glasgow State Nursing Facility and Monroe County Medical Center.

The information obtained from the discussion will be utilized to ensure that the college's curriculum, career services and professional programs meet the evolving health care industry needs. The findings from the health care forum will be shared in the release of an executive summary and white paper to regional health care industries.
